Feng Shui: Some Basics
Things to Consider if
You're Considering How
to Approach/Improve
YOUR Feng Shui
-
Feng shui practitioners assess several factors when determining how the energy in a space may be improved.
If you're looking for a practitioner, find one whose communication style works well with yours - and find one who ushers you to find personal ways to adapt the best feng shui practices. (It's easy to read lists of tips and simply plug those in, but to get the most mileage out of what you learn and apply it long-term you will benefit from custom solutions.)
-
Feng shui involves seeking balance throughout our spaces and understanding how different areas within our spaces influence particular types of energy in our lives. For example, we learn to identify where energy in the home most influences our love life.
-
Seeking balance, decluttering, and providing enhancements to a space are great ways to improve energy flow. Balance that we mention primarily relates to harmonizing both items of nature's five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) and items reflecting yin and yang energy.
-
The main entry to one's space is considered the place where energy is welcomed, so one often starts to assess and improve energy flow by making an entry more inviting.
